Waukesha Tires: Keeping You On The Road...Literally

Of the thousands of components in modern vehicles, only one has the responsibility of contacting the road surface and keeping you there. That component is the tire. Tires Waukesha are one of the most important safety items on your vehicle. The Rubber Manufacturers Association recommends that you take only five minutes per month to inspect your tires’ inflation and tread wear. This is a relatively simple task to perform and only takes a few dollars out of your wallet and a few minutes of your time.

Warning Signs of Shocks and Struts

Shocks and struts are designed to help keep your tires on the road. They provide a comfortable ride by influencing the control and handling characteristics of your vehicle. Without them, a vehicle would bounce down the road, making driving extremely difficult. Shocks and struts do not require replacing at specific mileage intervals like filters or spark plugs, but they do wear out and eventually have to be replaced.

The HWY 83 contruction is finally complete and we couldn't be happier with the new and improved roadway (and our new parking lot)! Winter Vehicle Preparation

Do you feel that? An ominous presence is sweeping across the country; do you know what it is? Of course that would be the frigid winter season that will soon be upon us.

With that in mind, there are some steps one can take to ensure that your car will be able to survive the harsh cold. It is a fact that vehicles suffer just as much from the cold as humans do. It is important to prepare your vehicle, just as it is important for you to prepare yourself with warmer clothes, gloves, boots, and so on.

How to Cut Repair Costs

Expenses on a vehicle add up quickly. You may be tempted to postpone work on your car because it’s drivable now and can still get your from one place to the next. If you procrastinate on performing routine maintenance, the costs can increase exponentially. Extend Your Tires' Lifespan

Good tires can be expensive, which is why it’s important to maintain them. Here’s some ways to get the most out of your tires.

Bad News Batteries

June 2011

When functioning properly, your battery provides ignition by working in conjunction with the alternator. Even in a diesel automobile which uses no spark for ignition, the engine is designed to not run without a battery.
Your battery may need more frequent replacement if you’re driving in extreme weather conditions or frequently taking short trips. Nobody wants to be stuck in the office or out in the cold because of a dead battery. This is why it’s so important to keep track of your battery’s performance and condition.

Keeping on top of tire maintenance

Many modern cars have tire pressure meters that will notify you when the tire pressure is low. Without these meters, it is possible that a pressure drop will go unnoticed until your tires are ruined, or worse, blown out.

When tires are properly inflated, they will wear evenly and the tires will last longer. If a tire is used while under-inflated, the sidewalls will take most of the pressure and the tire will wear on the outside. If a tire is over-inflated, the tire will bulge in the middle and the car will run on the center part of the tire.

Why 4-Wheel Drive Vehicles May NOT be an Off-Road Super Power

Do you take your vehicle off road with a, “Thomas the Train,” mentality, (I think I can, I think I can)? Even if you drive a vehicle with more than 2-wheel drive capability, it does not necessarily mean it is fit to leave the safety of regular driving roads.
